I’m going to play technological prophet for a moment. In light of Apple releasing it’s third version of its iPhone software, I began thinking about the capabilities of smart phones and the possibility they have to overpower your PC as your main machine simply because of the mobility of the phone.
This comparison shows you what I see as the nine most important abilities of the two most popular personal technological devices.

My friend James is thinking about getting a video camera and was asking me if I thought he should do it. This is a question I’ve been asked a couple times before. I’ve always had a video camera and have logged hundreds of hours shooting and editing. A couple tips came to mind on how your average James could get the best shots and make the most out of his purchase.
Don’t wait for action, make it happen
Real life is not always exciting as you know. Sometimes you have to give things a little shove in order to get good shots. If you have a video camera you now have an ability others don’t, the power to get people to do things they normally wouldn’t. People think they have a chance at stardom(and they do, thanks to YouTube) when they are being recorded. One way to get good footage is simply to ask people unusual questions. For example, is filming grandma kind of like watching grass grow? Ask her to tell you about the first time she had a little too much to drink.

Now the countdown begins, I have lots of planning to do. I’ve decided to fly into San Francisco and explore California for a bit when I return. Never been there before. My plan so far is pretty basic. I plan to rent a car in San Fran and drive down to San Diego where I have a friend, and back up again.
I’m won’t be in any hurry and hope so spend at least a couple days in some of the larger cities. I plan to try out www.couchsurfing.com for the first time. Maybe a can catch up with these guys at some point. Also plan on doing a little job hunting, but with the economy like it is it’s tough to stay optimistic. Anybody with must see stops in mind let me know.
Oh yea, first stop, 4×4 Animal Style In-N-Out Burger.

I went to see “Marley and Me” yesterday. If you don’t know it’s basically about a young family and their rambunctious dog.
This movie was doomed before I even walked into the theatre. Before I saw the movie I saw a poster for the it on a bus stop that showed only the cute dog and his puppy dog eyes. Someone had spray painted over it, “The dog dies.”
The first half of the movie was ok I guess, I got a few laughs thanks to the dog. But after about an hour of watching the dog tear shit up was starting to stress me out. The bad dog routine was getting really old.
Then Jennifer Aniston starts hating life and screaming her head off for the longest time. I think at that time she had her third baby that was also screaming all the time. I wanted to turn down the volume sooooo bad.
As it progressed I found myself thinking, “what’s the plot of this movie, what are these people trying to accomplish, they’re just a normal happy family living a normal happy life?”
One of the two main conflicts of the movie, Owen Wilson’s career uncertainty, was never resolved. However, the main conflict of the movie certainly was resolved, the dog died.
